This was my very first fiesta item and bought it in PLUM! I don't care about the pourability, I don't fill it all the way anyways so have had little trouble personally. It'll forever be my most treasured piece.

I love the teapots. I have a couple of them. I also have a couple of the coffee pots. I wish you would make more coffee pots. I would like to have a paprika one. I love ALL of the Fiestaware items. I have over 500 pieces.

This is one of those pieces of Fiesta that is based on a vintage design, but which has been restyled for various reasons. The problem is that during the restyling process the teapot lost it's user-friendliness. The large teapot is pretty to look at, but is difficult to pour. The handle is not at all easy to hold onto while pouring, especially with the added weight of a full pot of tea. Furthermore, the spout doesn't pour well; it tends to pour down over itself, making a mess every time I ever tried to use it. A better idea was the restyled medium teapot that Fiesta redesigned in the late 1960's -early 1970's. The medium teapot had a more user-friendly handle and spout design which rendered it much easier to pour and hold onto while using. Unfortunately that teapot has been out of production since approximately 1973! When Fiesta came back on the market in 1986 after the entire line had been retired in 1973, the large teapot was scheduled for production, although it had to be redesigned due to the new type of clay the line was being made with. This redesign led to the current large teapot with all it's design flaws, while unfortunately the medium teapot hasn't made a reappearance in all these years. If you want a teapot to display on a china shelf, this one is mighty pretty. Just don't try using it to actually serve tea to your friends, as you may end up scalding them in the process. Let's hope that someday Fiesta will bring the retired medium teapot back into production. It holds almost as much tea, but in a much more user-friendly vessel! (NOTE: The medium teapot is still available to purchase! Countless thousands of them were produced from 1936 until 1973. Many of the teapots that have survived since then are still available to collectors to buy and use!)
